Following on the success of their popular compilation of eyewitness accounts of Iowa valor in World War II, Larry Cuddeback and Cheyenne Miller have produced a sequel containing another 99 stories of the Greatest Generation. The Three of Hearts comprises mostly remembrances passed down from veterans who are no longer with us in the form of letters, diaries, postwar memoirs and interviews. As in the previous book, every theater of the war is portrayed and every branch of the service is represented. The book is illustrated with dozens of photographs and facsimiles, and includes a section of "snippets" supplementing some of the stories contained in We Lucky Few.
